Reports & Planning

Mosquito identifications are completed for samples taken during the active season. This species information is added to the Commission’s electronic database in conjunction with specific inspections at the sites where the samples were taken.

Seasonally collected rainfall, inspection and mosquito species data is compiled and graphed. Summaries are used to analyze the mosquito populations within the county and develop control strategies as well as being used for reports and historical comparison purposes.

State mandated reports including Plans & Estimates submitted to the Director of the NJ Agricultural Experiment Station and Annual Report submitted to the Warren County Board of Commissioners are produced during the winter months.

As per NJ pesticide regulations, packets of information are assembled and distributed to every municipality in the county about the mosquito control program. Development and scheduling of all required legal advertising for adult mosquito spraying takes place in the winter.

The necessary contracting and municipal approval procedures takes place in the winter to arrange for aerial services to provide larval control in areas of Warren County that begins in the spring and involves large acreage untreatable by hand.
