Classroom Presentations
In 2007, the Commission worked to further develop our school program. Commission staff members are available to give presentations to school groups in Warren County. Our inter-active presentation is one hour long and has been developed for fourth and fifth grade students.
The program, developed in our office, begins with a Power Point presentation on mosquitoes and ticks. After the Power Point presentation the class is divided into multiple groups to visit our hands-on learning stations. The learning stations consist of preserved mosquito specimens, live larvae, pupae and adult mosquitoes as well as fish and educational games. This presentation is a favorite among students, according to their feedback. In 2011, a variation of our school program was developed and geared toward middle school gifted and talented classes.
