In 2007, the Commission worked to further develop our school program. Commission staff members are available to give presentations to school groups in Warren County. Our inter-active presentation is one hour long and has been developed for fourth and fifth grade students.
The program, developed in our office, begins with a Power Point presentation on mosquitoes and ticks. After the Power Point presentation the class is divided into multiple groups to visit our hands-on learning stations. The learning stations consist of preserved mosquito specimens, live larvae, pupae and adult mosquitoes as well as fish and educational games. This presentation is a favorite among students, according to their feedback. In 2011, a variation of our school program was developed and geared toward middle school gifted and talented classes. View our School Program flyer below or contact the Commission office with your questions or requests to schedule a presentation for your students at 908-453-3585.
