Public Outreach
Warren County Mosquito Commission’s public education activities take place year round. Reaching out to the residents and visitors in the county helps to increase an understanding of mosquito biology, mosquito-borne diseases and mosquito control practices, particularly those which can be accomplished by homeowners. Commission staff also gives presentations at professional meetings as well as providing written articles for various publications including professional journals and magazines/newsletters.
A table top display along with other educational displays, including hands on activities (bean bag game, tic-tac-toe board), have been developed by the Commission for use at a variety of public relations events. Commission staff has also developed unique fact sheets for public education purposes.

Warren County Commission staff members have also participated in statewide and nationwide public education activities including:
- The establishment of the NJ Mosquito Control Associations first Public Relations Committee and subsequent subdivision, the Education Committee
- The initial development of the website for the American Mosquito Control Association www.mosquito.org
- The development of the first website for the New Jersey Mosquito Biology and Control community
- The establishment of the nationally recognized and celebrated National Mosquito Control Awareness Week link to AMCA resolution
